Framingham "Happy Place"

It was a privilege to work with a talented dedicated interior designer, a creative and passionate homeowner, and a truly professional contractor on this project in Framingham, MA.

 

From the first meeting it was clear that this busy physician homeowner wanted this kitchen to be the family’s happy place. She knew what she wanted it to feel like and could see it in her mind.  We simply listened carefully and did our best to make it work with the materials available.

We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen, opening up a stunning view of the kitchen, back yard and pool. There was room to add a pantry, which the contractor did a fantastic job of building in a way that made it seem like it was always there. Moving the patio door and window over the sink made the cabinet layout work efficiently and the placement of the microwave in a wall cabinet outside of the traditional work triangle allows the family to use it without bumping into the person cooking.

Calming colors and a transitional door style update this traditional home without looking out of place.
